Nikon Autofocus Tutorial (Part 1)

This video explains into depth about Nikon's autofocusing system in Nikon's lenses and camera bodies - showing into depth about the settings to get your image crystal clear in focus. Enjoy. On the second hand, sorry, we forgot there is a slight difference in the focus indicator (aka "electric rangefinder") on the lower end DSLR's. Okay, on the lower end DSLR's, there won't be any triangles at all - there is only green dot that alerts the user the subject in focus. Continue focusing manually by estimate until the green dot lights up continuously in the viewfinder. These models don't have both triangles happen to be: D40, D40X, D50, D60, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, and D300. Music: Autumn Leaves by John Coltrane

Astrophotography DSLR Cameras - How to use the shutter speed until you

Now that you understand a bit 'light, you will have to do a little' to understand your camera. The best way to do this is to look up from your Handy Dandy help or instructions, which should also help some graphics to help you. The other way is more common, and that the careful practice of finding the right settings for "hitting buttons until you find it." With the cameras, this is difficult because often defined not clear how people with this methodwants.

If you find it all:

DSLR

You want to set the camera in manual exposure or simple cameras, set "night mode". Then you need the lens to its maximum aperture, which is usually set to 2.8. Set the ISO to the highest level you have (400 for the simple point and shoot cameras). Focus

Focus is the next topic which must be faced by using the Handy Dandy Guide or the method of "hitting the buttons until you find" it. Discover how to turn off auto-focus settings and then manually focus the camera on infinity, or as far away from that to focus the camera. With a simple point and shoot digital camera, this could mean for the small icon with a mountain. For the DSLR at some point during the day, focus your camera on something really far away, and then turn off the autofocus. If your digital SLR camera has an adjustable lens manually focused to infinity andTape. Experiment with this day, not only the confidence of the settings. Try to take something away from the job setup. White Balance

The next argument is to master the white balance settings. This is a way to compensate for red skies polluted by light, using the auto white balance. Most cameras auto white balance can be preset. These default settings usually give poor results at night. This is especially a problem whenshooting anywhere that has light pollution. It makes the sky a brown/red color. Some cameras have a way for the user to select the white balance. ( check out the manual or hit buttons). Whichever way, you want to set the white balance to Tungsten when using long exposures when photographing the night sky. This will give a nicer sky background There are some high-end cameras let you use a custom white balance. If so, try adjusting the blue/amber and magenta/green balance.

DSLR Actionfilm (Canon 550D/Rebel t2i/7D)

After using my Canon 550D/Rebel t2i for shooting different project the past months, I decided that I wanted to make an actionfilm to test it even more. I bought a new lens for my camera: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, and a field sound recorder: Zoom ZOH4NK H4n and a boompole so I could record much better sound, and get closer to the object with the shotgun microphone. We filmed everything during one day with a Canon 7D and Canon EOS 550D on homemade shoulder-rigs, and used only natural light (the sun and the existing lamps on location). I used Final Cut Pro to edit the film and Color to colorcorrect. I added blood bursts, muzzle flashes, gun-shells and so on in After effects. I hope you enjoy the film! :) Homesite: www.axp.no Directed by: Anders Øvergaard Cinematography by: Stephen St. Peter & Anders Øvergaard Sound recording by: Anders Lund Eriksrud & Camilla Hagen Albrechtsen Music by: Torkil Lund Johansen Cast: Drugdealer - Daniel Wetherell Jacob - Nicolai C. Nikon Coolpix P7000 Review

For the full Nikon Coolpix P7000 review, go to www.infosyncworld.com In a world where decent advanced fixed lens compacts are hard to come by, the Nikon Coolpix P7000 emerges from the boiling surface of quality. This is a very obscure genre—a fixed lens camera that features DSLR-style features and a larger sensor than nearly every advanced point-and-shoot on the market. Nikon's Coolpix P7000 is ideal for the photography student, professional who needs a buddy for their D700 or 7D, or part-time photographer who needs a quick shot without messing with interchangeable lenses. But the Nikon Coolpix P7000 is not alone, for the Canon PowerShot G12 wants a piece of the pie as well. In fact, both cameras are the only models of their ilk. You either go for the Nikon Coolpix P7000, or the Canon PowerShot G12. The Panasonic Lumic DMC-LX5 is similar when it comes to imaging, but it cannot compare to the external features flaunted by the P7000 and G12. So, our quest today is to determine which one is right for you—an undeniably grueling task, since both cameras performed exceptionally.

Gary Fong is more than LightSpheres

At PhotoPlus Expo this year, one of the mainstays did not have a booth. In the past, there have been lines of folks waiting to hand over the dough for his products, which have become standards in the industry. That famous white bowl that slips over the speedlights head to soften everyone's light, can be seen all over the place. Visit photoinduced.com for more photo goodness and free stuff weekly. But this time there was no booth. There were some new products, though. Take a look at the Puffer, the Origami, and the flip cage which seems like a crazy good versatile tool. Plus a new security system to lock up your lenses and camera bodies. We like Gary Fong, and his products always have a great design and functionality based on real world needs.

The best digital SLR for less than $ 1000

So you've decided to make the courageous leap into the realm of digital SLR photography. She is probably one of thousands of digital photography enthusiasts who have used a simple point-and-shoot cameras for years. One of the reasons why people are so reluctant to move into the world of digital SLR photography is an aversion to spending a lot of money for a camera. Well, if this is the case with you, then you should be pleasantly surprised to find that not to spend tooMoney to get a good digital SLR camera in those days.

Like all things digital, digital cameras have rapidly declined in price in recent years. This means, in essence, is that you get a camera with SLR technology today, which is probably as cheap as you for a simple point-and-shoot to digital a few years ago would have paid. One of the first digital camera I bought, go back five or six years ago was nothing more than a simple point-and-shoot Canon, but in the endcost me about $ 1000 When I see what I can now come to a thousand dollars in digital SLRs, this is ridiculous.

DSLR

Two of the brands to see better when you are considering a digital SLR, Canon and Nikon would be. Canon Digital Rebel line of cameras is one of the most popular for fans of entry-level SLRs in recent years. It started with the XT, then the XTi, the XSi, the XS, and now followed the T1i. These cameras usually had to be between600 and $ 1100.

Nikon also makes a good couple of SLR cameras. If you're looking to be living in the sub $ 100 price range, and the D40 and D60 cameras from Nikon would be a good look.

You have your DSLR now for 5 years and have had the "bug" that it is time for you new camera to upgrade to one of the market, be on a Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax or Panasonic . It must now decide whether you want an interchangeable lens system Full System Sensor, a fixed lens or an interchangeable lens DSLR. Now where are all the other names are and what they do? Yes, things have changed over the past 5Years if you study at your point and shoot or 35mm SLR, for sure. Let me see if I explain some of these new descriptions to help you in your "mission" for a new camera:

Complete system of interchangeable lenses - most frequently mentioned DSLR usual venue that provides a capability to replace the lens with another. As you probably already in use, so if you had your digital SLR or for the last 5 years. You can go from aWide angle, zoom, normal, one of those lenses super-zoom/telephoto on the same site, provided you have the correct target configuration or adapter.

DSLR

Fixed-lens digital SLR camera - as the name suggests, you can not change the lens and the body of a moving semi-transparent mirror does not.

System of interchangeable lenses - does not use mirrors, the camera usually referred to as "four thirds" camera, the smallest. Instead of a mirror, the imagetreated captured on a miniature display and then. This is very similar to those used in video cameras. If you already have a full size DSLR, this is probably not what you're looking for.

With the middle one, I'd probably want to decide what should be used with the camera. By this I mean, your just going to shoot family gatherings and periodic travel photos? If so, then you're probably better off sticking with your current digital SLR, but if you're now lookingto get some great portraits, landscapes and fantastic, then you probably need something more than they already have. Want to blow some of these great photos in a little 'more than the standard 4 x 6, maybe 11 x 14 or maybe even great, then you need something more than the average 8-megapixel resolution, you need to move forward. Personally, I'd look for something above the 12 MP range, because you will need to have this kind ofResolution for larger photos.

You must decide how frames per second, you want to go. The lower end DSLR is shot 2-4 fps, and the top end shoot upwards of 10 fps. If you plan to shoot action shots, this will really help your chances of losing something really decreased. Understand also that the top end DSLR will automatically focus a lot faster as well. There are a lot of talk going on about the best focus,in the lens or auto-focus in the body. This will solely depend on the manufacturer, but be advised that you won't be able to see the auto-focus occurring if it's within the camera body and not in the lens. The same will hold true for image stabilization that is now available. You're going to want a camera with very good auto-focus speed and tracking abilities.

Speaking of camera body, do you want the new plastic/composites out there or the more rugged metal bodies, and do you want a Room that is moisture and weather resistant to the kind of photos are photographed. I'm not underwater photography here, but walking through the fields or woods, or a sports event is taking its toll on a camera that is weather resistant (to observe more things) instead.

Sure, you probably know that most of the DSLR video footage real now. This may be somewhere in the range of 24 to 30 fps, with the lower end of the shooting at 1280 x 720 and higherThe end of the shoot to 1,920 x 1,080 HD. Would the possibility of manual controls for video capture, some of impressive at the lower end cameras only automatic settings, while the top allows for greater speed and aperture manually.

Since you're probably looking to replace your existing camera with a newer one, make sure you know what the ISO capabilities of the new camera. There will be one that compensates for a wide range of ISO settings for lighting thatSource log in. Many of the cameras on the market now have a resilience of 400 ISO, with a little 'go up to ISO 1200, ideal for taking pictures in the night sky or very dark areas.

I will not go into here because this can be on two pages. Think a little 'after-market manufacturers in a very strong position and do not have to keep up with the camera manufacturer, who will, especially if you want to get some of theHigh-end telephoto lenses out there. You just have to be sure, fit the lens to the camera, and this is usually accomplished using a special camera lens adapter.

I think, finally, before you take the plunge and buy the camera you buy from reputable dealers. If you say in the process of ordering and everything is extra due to the ridiculously low price "advertised", then you have to do with the wrong people. There are many sites on the InternetThis rate of re-seller and you should check before buying.

Canon T2i/550D 7D Disable AGC Automatic Gain Control Hack for the Rode Videomic

Watch part 2 here: www.learningdslrvideo.com s you can see by the video below I finally figured out how to disable or bypass the AGC (Automatic Gain Control) on my Canon T2i 550D while using the Rode VideoMic. (This will work for the Canon 7D as well). I ran across a good video by Mike B at IamTheMikeB.com, he explain how to disable the AGC which I had to give a try. But I couldn't get his hack to work for my Rode Videomic and judging the comments on his video no one else could either. I made 3 trips to Radio Shack but none of these adapters worked. Don't buy the ones I got if you have a Rode VideoMic. I didn't want to get a JuicedLink or a Zoom H4N or anything else that would add time and steps to my DSLR video workflow, I like to keep it cheap and simple. perhaps someday Canon will be nice and provide a firmware update for the AGC, but I didn't want to wait any longer. The problem is Canon designed a poor automatic gain control AGC which would have been better if they left it out of the design all together. What happens is if you talk really loud into the microphone the AGC will bring your level down which eliminates the hiss, but only 1 second later after you stop talking it brings the level all the way up again (along with the hiss). What we want to do is clamp the AGC down and keep it there to keep the hiss away so we can have nice clean audio. To do this I use an old cheap mp3 player I had collecting dust to playback a 1 hour 19kHz sine wave tone by sending the tone ...

D3100 DSLR Review

Anyone can be a professional photographer for today. Digital photography is photography a lot easier with reliable solutions. The film can be exposed, and usually become very expensive to buy and develop, while digital photography has made under the photos as easy as point and shoot. And with a huge amount of competition there is, the software is always better.

The models of digital cameras actually adapt differently to different people. You have the traditionalPoint-and-shoot camera designed for taking on the road. These are generally ideal for capturing special moments with family or friends. For experienced photographers, DSLR-type is the best service up, because the image is scanned in the traditional single lens reflector of the camera, but with. DLSRs produce better quality for more artistic shots designed.

DSLR

There is a wide range of lenses for digital SLR professional. Digital SLR cameras require lenses of different-different types of photos. A standard lens for photos of the base, wide-angle lens to take pictures that capture a much bigger area of landscape paintings for distant subjects and macro lens that is used for close-up detail interesting.

are required for new photographers some basic tips. try, particularly in the DLSR cameras to try the tutorial option before the default functions, simply because they are comfortable. Play to get the 'speed, aperture and shutter ISO different results in your photos. This is a way for your style and preferences in the field of digital photography for development. You should not rely on the flash light is on board. At any cost is not a direct lightning strike as the image of light will be flat and boring, almost as if by a point and shoot camera.

DSLR ratings are net of needs in order to choose the best for your camera. Whether it's a basic camera point-and-shoot like the Canon Ixus or specialized> DSLR Nikon has a camera for everyone. To the best of both worlds, will also be hybrid cameras for photography, or small, and patterns of recovery point objectives are still much more professional.

PROAIM DSLR Cage and Mattebox review

I took the plunge and decieded to try out the PROAIM Matte box and their 6" DSLR cage. I was quite surprised at how fast the products got to me. It was obvious that english was their second language but they were very helpful in making sure I was getting correct product. They did forget to send me a part of my kit but all I had to do was get on Skype and chat with them and they sent it right away. The Products came with a bit of a oily film but other than that everything was ship shape. I think I mention it in the video that everything feels very sold but at the same time for the price it's about where the quality should be. I wouldn't want to put these products up against something like a ARRI Matte box or other high end piece of equipment but for 99% of DSLR work these products will treat you just f

Digital Photography Question

froknowsphoto.com This question was left in my facebook comments in regards to me shooting in Utah with the Nikon D7000 and Sigma 17-50. "Is it ever disappointing trying non professional gear?" Now I thought that was a great question because so many people say its all about the gear the gear. I know I push using better glass repeatedly to help in getting better images but that doesn't guarantee you great images. It comes down to the camera you have at the time you are capturing moments. My answer to the question is honestly no, that was the set up I had at that moment and those images I capture are going to be unique to that shoot. I wouldn't have been able to capture the same thing that I captured at the moment with anything else. I immerse myself in the gear that I am using regardless of what it is. It all comes down to capturing moments and the photographer behind the camera.

Nikon vs Canon EOS 60D D7000: The Ultimate Christmas 2010 DSLR

With the holiday season approaches, I try to figure out which camera to get my husband for Christmas: the Nikon vs Canon EOS 60D D7000. He is currently a class at night school as part of our city folk, and he is absolutely love. For years he has always had a talent for photography, and despite the lack of knowledge in theory and what not, we managed to produce some great shots with just her Canon point and shoot himself.

Now is the time for him to doan update. His ability, progress and development, it must be tools that can keep up with him. The price is about $ 100 produces the 60D - $ 200 cheaper, and it's a Canon. As far as I can remember, both my husband and I have sworn by Canon point and shoot. No other brand can our attention because we are the results of this well-known brand has made us popular. Although Canon has had problems with their numbers and shoot "lenses get stuck in the case, we think that blanks and more or lessLucky. And do not phase us because we do not want to resort to another brand. But as we talk with Nikon digital SLR is appears to be the king. It 's a game all of the other ball.

D7000 Canon EOS 60D vs Nikon: the HD video mode
Both cameras, while developed primarily for photography, have the ability to shoot video in HD 1080p. Seriously? This is crazy, because you are a professional digital video recorder at hand and not have to wear amore tool in your arsenal. Now, what is better? The Nikon D7000 is used by Chase Jarvis director expert in several short films. You can see the magic that makes the D7000 from the search for him on YouTube.

Nikon vs Canon EOS 60D D7000: Burst
If you take pictures of events of high action sports? Or just fast-moving events in general? Both are very capable of such performance, the 60D to take up to 5.3 frames perSecond, while the D7000 is crushed to 6 frames per second. The Nikon D7000, not fail.
Nikon vs Canon EOS 60D D7000: Viewfinder

The 60D is pretty decent coverage with 96% of the image visible through the viewfinder, the Nikon D7000 still there with 100% coverage. With the Nikon, there is no longer a guessing game with what appears in the final work of art.
