Portrait Photography Session

Portrait Photography Session Video Clips. Duration : 14.30 Mins.

cazillo.com I've had many requests for this type of video, showing how I shoot a portrait session. There is a ton of info in this video plus some commentary which explains what I'm doing if its not 100% obvious. One thing that you may notice is that I don't spend a lot of time fiddling with my camera. I know it 110% and only worry about my exposure, histogram, composition and focus. Other things like white balance and picture controls could not be farther from my mind and I don't think about them. My goal is to create great photographs and that requires me to have a great rappor with the model or family keeping the thoughts and fun going. Here are your steps! Scout your location early or on another day with similar lighting conditions Keep a good conversation going with the model and 'look' at them making sure they are comfortable Learning to read someone's body language will dramatically improve your posing and portraits overall Know your equipment Use your histogram and screen (sparingly) Use a single focus point and put it on the model's face or eye Think about composition and what you want to create & ALWAYS fill the frame I usually recommend solid color clothing with no or minimal logos Shoot a few angles or crops of each scene so you can maximize sales potential (if you are selling images) So what questions do you have? Do you think you can do this? What's your favorite available light portrait?

Strobist Tutorial: Dark Background Portrait (Low Key) - Off Camera Flash Photography

Strobist Tutorial: Dark Background Portrait (Low Key) - Off Camera Flash Photography Tube. Duration : 5.30 Mins.

This is an off camera flash / strobist tutorial of not to make the background of your image completely black using flashes, even though you are in a brightly lit area, or you do not have a black backdrop. This is called LOW KEY LIGHTING. The concept is simple. All you have to do is set your exposure so that your image is completely black. Do this without even touching the flash. Once you do this, you can add the flash in. Try to put the light close to your subject, and have a narrow beam to avoid spill into the background. In this video, I start off with one flash for a dramatic look, and add a second flash for more separation. 5 Min Portrait - Bowling - Photography How To

froknowsphoto.com Welcome to the very first 5 Min Portrait VIDEO. What I discovered in the first 5 min is that it may be a little tough to stick to the 5 Min time frame when trying to set up, direct the subject and try to get useful images. There is a pretty good chance that I will go beyond the 5 min on these types of shoots. For more information and to see the images please click the link above. I used the Nikon D3s and Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS as well as the Simga 85 1.4 during this photo shoot.
