I happen to own both the indisystem indiSQUARE and the CPM FILM TOOLS DSLR Flyer kit. The indisystem indiSQUARE is one of the lowest priced DSLR rigs I've seen on the market. The entire unit is made out of 6061 aluminum and is very solid. There are 6 mounting holes across the top 2 of which are 1 20 threaded and 4 are 3/8 inch holes with no threads. The indiSQUARE will set you back about $130 + shipping. It's a bit on the heavy side, the handles aren't very durable and it could use a better arranged mounting system, but if your looking to save money this could be a usable option. To start out with the CPM Flyer is about a third the over all weight, It has well designed positionable handles and a much better mounting configuration. It comes standard with a 501 compatible quick release adapter and four 8 inch 15mm rails. The other nice thing about CPM FILM TOOLS gear is that it is fully upgradeable. So in the future you can always buy a few more parts and turn this into a shoulder rig.
