Tascam DR-40 firmware update guide - DSLR FILM NOOB

www.dslrfilmnoob.com I've had the Tascam DR-40 around for awhile now. The lack of independent audio controls for each input channel has kept it from being used on several projects. But recently Tascam was kind enough to update the firmware, adding this feature to the list. You can download the updated firmware 1.10 here: tascam.com With this feature enabled the Tascam DR-40 is now much closer to being a low price competitor to the Zoom h4n. Sure it doesn't have all the features of the h4n, but if you just need a solid field recorder with xlr inputs and volume control the Tascam DR-40 should work fine. Canon 7D firmware update

You will want to check your digital camera. If it's not running the current version you will want to update. These updates contain many new features and bug fixes. Model Railway Layout Update 18

A brief update on the progress, of the model railway layout build. Next update will be done, once some more work has been done on the layout build. Layout is 00 scale, & is mainly DCC (digital) controlled. Due to work, family & other video / photo projects taking priority, layout construction is taking longer. It's worked on as & when time allows, but no time limit has been set on to complete the layout. Each section as completed, is being throughly tested. This is to show up any running problems etc, which can be then be easily sorted without causing problems later. Current target for this year, is to get all the upper baseboards in place & rest of the track lnstalled. Next year is to then hopefully move on to the scenic work etc.
