Clovis West High School Every 15 Minutes 2010

Every 15 Minutes is a program designed to educate high school students on the effects and consequences of drinking and driving. This one takes place at Clovis West High School in Fresno, CA. Original date of viewing was May 20th, 2010. EFM in California is usually by way of a Grant from the California Highway Patrol Office of Traffic Safety. EFM is typically a two day event for the students and is usually conducted every other year. Day one is when the staged car crash takes place. All of the Juniors and Seniors are released at the sound of a distressed 911 call and gather to watch the events unfold live as they actually happen. Police cars and motorcycles, fire trucks, ambulances, helicopters, news vans and even the County Coroner is usually on hand. This is a large, community involved event. Meanwhile, throughout the day (Every 15 Minutes to be precise), a student is pulled from their class by a grim reaper and a Police Chaplin will read an obituary to the class informing them of their classmate's death. All of the students who are pulled from class become the "living dead" and are on hand at the car crash site, either standing off to the side quietly with white painted faces or sometimes roaming around as the crash unfolds.
